How-To: Edit the chart area - OpenOffice.org Calc
- To edit the Chart Area, first move your mouse over the chart and right click on it.
- The context menu should open.
- Look for the "Edit" option and click on it once.
- Good! We are now in edit mode. Right click again over the chart.
- You should see the context menu again with a different set of options.
- Now, look for the "Chart Area..." option and click on it.
- The Chart Area window should appear.
- Here you can change the different elements of the chart area such as the lines...
- You can adjust the line's style, color, width and line transparency here.
- Next, clicking on the area tab lets you see the fill options for the chart area.
- For this example we are changing the background fill color of the chart to "Gray 40%." Just click on it once.
- Lastly, in the transparency tab you can adjust the chart area's transparency.
- We want the chart area to be transparent a bit so we are clicking on the option "Transparency."
- Afterwards, just click on OK.
- Good! Now if we deselect the chart by clicking here....
- ...you will see that the background color has turned to gray, and is transparent.
- Congratulations! You have learned how to edit the chart area.
