Edit the chart area - OpenOffice.org Calc

How-To: Edit the chart area - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. To edit the Chart Area, first move your mouse over the chart and right click on it.
  2. The context menu should open.
  3. Look for the "Edit" option and click on it once.
  4. Good! We are now in edit mode. Right click again over the chart.
  5. You should see the context menu again with a different set of options.
  6. Now, look for the "Chart Area..." option and click on it.
  7. The Chart Area window should appear.
  8. Here you can change the different elements of the chart area such as the lines...
  9. You can adjust the line's style, color, width and line transparency here.
  10. Next, clicking on the area tab lets you see the fill options for the chart area.
  11. For this example we are changing the background fill color of the chart to "Gray 40%." Just click on it once.
  12. Lastly, in the transparency tab you can adjust the chart area's transparency.
  13. We want the chart area to be transparent a bit so we are clicking on the option "Transparency."
  14. Afterwards, just click on OK.
  15. Good! Now if we deselect the chart by clicking here....
  16. ...you will see that the background color has turned to gray, and is transparent.
  17. Congratulations! You have learned how to edit the chart area.
