Format a chart's title - OpenOffice.org Calc

How-To: Format a chart's title - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. To format a chart's title first double click on the chart to select it and enter the edit mode.
  2. Next, right-click over the chart.
  3. On the menu that opens, move your mouse over the option "Title" and then on the side menu that appears click on "Main Title..."
  4. The chart title window should open.
  5. This window lets you format the different elements of the chart's title. First we will look at the border options. Click on the borders tab here.
  6. In the borders tab you can adjust the line properties of the border. Click on this down arrow to see a list of options for the line style.
  7. Just look for the style of line you want and click on it.
  8. In this example we are choosing "Line Style 9."
  9. Good! once you've chosen a style you should see other options below. You can adjust the line's color, width and transparency here.
  10. Just adjust the elements you want. Here we are increasing the width of the line.
  11. Now, let's look at the area tab. Click on it's tab here.
  12. Here you can choose the "fill" or background of the chart title. Click on this down arrow to view the list of options.
  13. For this example we have chosen "Color" to be the background. Just look and click on the color you want.
  14. Once you have chosen a color, in this case Yellow, click on the "Transparency" tab here.
  15. Here you can adjust the chart title's transparency. Just click on the option you want.
  16. In this example we don't want to use transparency so we're not changing anything. Next, click here on "Characters" to move on.
  17. On this tab, you should see options on font style, font size, typeface and langauage. Just click on the options you want.
  18. For this example we are choosing, BellGothic as the font, and 20 as the font size.
  19. Afterwards, click on "Font Effects"
  20. Here you will find font effect options like underlines, strikethroughs, font color etc. Just click on the options you need.
  21. Lastly we will look at the alignment options. You can see them here at the "Alignment" tab. Click on it once.
  22. Here you can adjust the text direction of the title. Once adjusted, click on OK below.
  23. Great! As you can see the chart's title has been formatted.
