How-To: Download and open Google spreadsheets - OpenOffice.org Calc
- It is possible to quickly download and open a published Google spreadsheet into Calc.
- To do this, first open your browser and navigate to the published spreadsheet.
- Now, move your mouse to the address bar and click on it once.
- Next, use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the end of the URL.
- Once at the end of the URL type in "&output=ods" without the quotation marks then press enter.
- Depending on your browser, you should be presented with the options to open or save the spreadsheet.
- For Firefox users click on the "Open with" option and then choose "OpenOffice.org" as the program open it with. Afterwards click on OK.
- After a few moments, the spreadsheet should be downloaded and OpenOffice Calc will open to reveal it.
- Great! We have downloaded and opened the Google spreadsheet. Notice that all the other sheets are available here as well.
