Insert name reference - OpenOffice.org Calc

How-To: Insert name reference - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. It is possible to put a custom name reference to a cell.
  2. To do this, first click on the cell you want to put the name reference to.
  3. Good. As you can see that cell's reference name is currently at the default "column and row" name format. You can check it here at the name box.
  4. Next, click here on "Insert"
  5. Then, on the menu that opens move your mouse over "Names"
  6. A side menu should appear. Click on the option "Define..."
  7. The "define names" window opens.
  8. Now, click once here on the name field.
  9. Next, just type in the name reference you want for the cell.
  10. Afterwards, just press OK.
  11. Great! We have defined this cell's reference name.
  12. You can check the new reference name by clicking on the cell...
  13. ...and then looking at the name box here.
  14. Congratulations! You have learned how to insert a name reference.
