Open Google spreadsheets - OpenOffice.org Calc

How-To: Open Google spreadsheets - OpenOffice.org Calc
  1. It is possible to open a google spreadsheet using OpenOffice.org
  2. To do this, first use your browser to navigate to the published google spreadsheet.
  3. Once your spreadsheet is open in your browser, click once on the address bar here. Now, press Control and "A" (Ctrl+A) to select the URL and then press Control and "C" (Ctrl+C) to copy it.
  4. Now, open OpenOffice Calc and go to the Open Dialogue window.
  5. Click once on the filename field and press Control and "V" (Ctrl+V) to paste the spreadsheet address here.
  6. Great! We have pasted the URL.
  7. Now, use the arrow keys to move to the end of the URL and type in "&output=ods" without the quotation marks
  8. Afterwards, just click on "Open"
  9. Great! The google spreadsheet has now been opened.
  10. Notice that the other sheets in the spreadsheet are available as well.
  11. Congratulations! You have learned how to open Google Spreadhseets using Calc.
