How-To: Overview of page style options - OpenOffice.org Calc
- This screencast demonstrates the options available when creating or modifying page styles in Calc.
- Please remember that you need to have the styles and formatting window open to view the page style options. You can do this by pressing "F11" on the keyboard.
- Now to start, first click on the page styles button here.
- Now to start, click on the page style button here.
- Next, look for the style you want to modify and right click on it.
- Then, on the menu that opens, click on the option "Modify..."
- The options window for the page style should open. The first tab you should see would be the "Organizer" tab. Here you can set the page style's name, the styles it is linked to, and sometimes its category.
- Next, let's look at the "Page" tab.
- In this tab, you can set the paper format of the page style. You can select from some predefined formats by clicking on this down arrow and choosing one from the drop down menu.
- You can also adjust the page format manually by setting your own width, height and orientation. You can do this by adjusting these fields here.
- Below the page format settings, you can set the size of the margins. Just click on their respective up and down arrows to adjust the margins on each side.
- Next, over on this area you can adjust the paper tray settings using this drop down list.
- Below that, you can also adjust the page layout settings, the number format, as well as the settings for table alignment.
- Next, we go to the "borders" tab.
- This tab lets you adjust the options for the page style's borders.
- You can set the line arrangement here by clicking on the option you want.
- Beside it, you can select the line style for the border.
- If you want to change the border's color, click on this down arrow and click on the color of your choice.
- Beside the line style options, you can set the space reserved between the content and the border. If you want the space to be uniform throught all the slides click on the checkbox marked "Sychronize."
- Otherwise, you can set the space for each side individually here.
- Finally, you can adjust the border's shadow style settings on this area here.
- Next, we go to the "Background" tab.
- This tab let's you change the background color of the page style. Just click on the color you want in this pallete.
- If you don't want to use a color, you can also set the background to show a graphic. You can change this by clicking on this down arrow and clicking on the option you want.
- Now, we go on to the "header" tab.
- This tab lets you adjust the properties of the header. Here, you can enable/disable the header, as well as set the properties for its content, margins, spacing and height.
- If you need to set more specific options however, you can click on the "More..." and "Edit..." buttons here.
- Next, let's checkout the "Footer" tab.
- This tab lets you adjust the properties of the footer. Here, you can enable/disable it, as well as set the properties for its content, margins, spacing and height.
- If you need to set more specific options however, you can click on the "More..." and "Edit..." buttons here.
- Lastly, we shall take a look at the "Sheet" tab.
- This tab lets you change the properties of sheets. In this area you can change the page order of the sheets as well as the starting page number of the first sheet.
- You can also configure the spreadsheet elements that you want to include when the document is printed, here. This includes the column and row headers, the grid, notes, charts etc.
- Finally, you can set the scale options for printing in this area here.
