AutoCorrect
The AutoCorrect feature in OpenOffice.org is a process that monitors what you type in a document and corrects any mistakes or typographical errors that happens, automatically. Usually these corrections follow a set of commonly agreed upon standards in writing like first letter capitalization.
Besides these standards though, there are many other things the AutoCorrect feature can do. Among other things, this feature can automatically replace commonly misspelled words with correct ones, or even complete a whole word while it is still being typed. You can even set your own set of rules and options on what to replace when a certain text is typed.
You can adjust the options for the AutoCorrect feature by accessing the AutoCorrect dialog window.
