Relative Cell Reference

A relative cell reference is the use of a cell's coordinates, row and column in the grid. A relative reference is changed, if columns or rows are inserted or removed.

For example, the formula "=3*B1" contains as second the reference to the cell "B1" or column "B", row "1". While this reference looks absolute, the missing dollar sign, "$", for columns and row indicate this is a relative reference that is adjusted if needed.
