Field Label
A field label is a descriptive label of a
field
in a document or
form.
A field label can be freely chosen, whoever it is customary to
describe the kind of expected input value,
such as "Surname", "City" or "Account Number"
Field labels are not necessarily the same as the field name. In case of a field in a text document, the field name is also used as a label. In database forms the field label is separate from the field name. In fact different forms can display separate field labels for the same database field.
