Field Label

A field label is a descriptive label of a in a or .

A field label can be freely chosen, whoever it is customary to describe the kind of expected , such as "Surname", "City" or "Account Number"

Field labels are not necessarily the same as the field name. In case of a field in a text document, the field name is also used as a label. In database forms the field label is separate from the field name. In fact different forms can display separate field labels for the same database field.
