List Style
The List style refers to the way bulleted and numbered lists look like. This includes
the shape of the "bullets," the numbering style, the indentation, alignment
and characters used in the list.
Open Office lets you assign these list styles quickly using the styles and formatting window.
Different list styles
have different uses.
Numbered list styles have a set of distinct characters
that appear for each level of the list.
Depending on the document that you are writing, a specific numbered list style may be more
appropriate than others. Outlines, Indexes and other lists have standard formats that most people follow.
Sometimes though, bulleted and numbered list styles are just chosen based on what looks good for the document.
There are a number of list styles that is readily available for use. You can however, modify these styles, and even create new ones. You can find more information on how to do this below.
List styles are also related to other style categories
such as the character style.
