Microsoft Access Database (.mdb)
The ".mdb" file format is the file format used by
Microsoft Access
for storing
databases.
Database files,
basically store information about a database. This includes the
data tables, forms, reports, queries, and other properties a typical database
should have.
Before Microsoft office 2007
was released, Access database files were stored with the file extension ".mdb".
However, now this is replaced by the .accdb
file format for the 2007 version of Access.
Below is a list of Microsoft Access 2007 Database formats:
-
Access 2007 Database - (.accdb)
-
Access 2007 Database "Execute Only" - (.accde)
-
Access 2007 Template - (.accdt)
-
Access 2007 Database "Runtime" - (.accdr)
For a full list of Microsoft Office 2007 formats see the entry for:

can open
a Microsoft Access database by using the "connect to database" feature.
As always there is the possibility of some loss of data depending on the file
being opened.
