Menu
A menu is a list of text entries used to select from different
actions
.
Menus come in different forms. All applications in
OpenOffice.org
have a horizontal menu bar
at the top of the window. It lists top level
function groups such as "File", "View", "Tools", or "Help".
Clicking on these menu-items
opens a
menu with a vertical list of choices, which could contain
cascading sub menus
.
Another type of menu is the context menu
.
For example, right-clicking
in a
paragraph in OpenOffice.org writer, brings up the context menu for manipulating
text and formatting paragraphs.
Most menus are context sensitive. They only activate items that are applicable to the given context, such as the document type and the state of the document you are editing.
