Due to the delay of integrating larger chunks of code into the rest of the project, the Novell Edition is typically enhanced by a few features.

OpenOffice.org Novell Edition is an open-source office suite, including a applications for , , , , , and . It is available for different platforms Linux platforms and delivered as part of Novell's own Linux distribution SuSE. OpenOffice.org is also available for MS Windows.

As an open-source package OpenOffice.org Novell Edition is available at no cost. It is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).
