Page Header
A page header is the area at the top of the
page
in a printed
document
.
It is also called the header
.
Commonly, page headers contain page numbers, file names, company logos, date, time and other information related to the document. Some of this data is dynamic and can change from one page to another, such as the page number. Other information is static and does not change throughout the document, such as file names or company logos.
OpenOffice.org offers page headers in Writer
for
text documents,
Impress
for slide presentations
and Calc
for spreadsheets.
Page headers can be defined differently for odd or even numbered pages
as well as for the first page of a document. In addition, Open Office can define a
different header for each
section
in a text document.
The opposite of a page header is a page footer.
