Shift Drop
A shift-drop is an action
made when using a computer. It is done by
pressing the shift key
on the keyboard and
then using the mouse or arrow keys to direct an action towards an item or items found in the computer.
A shift drop is used when you need to select large amount of items.
It is unlike a control drop
which is more useful with more specific items. When a shift-drop is used for example
in tandem with the mouse
, items can be selected
by clicking the first and last items. This causes all items in between to be selected.
The shift drop can also be used to de-select items in almost the same manner.
OpenOffice.org applications
support the shift-drop process. It can be used to
select or de-select text, cells, graphics and other elements in most document types.
