Square root
A square root of a particular number is basically a smaller number that was "squared" (multiplied by itself once) to get thr original particular number. Illustrated mathematically, the square root of the number "16" is the number "four," since 4^2 = 16.
Square roots are designated by the radical symbol (√). So in the above example, the square root of 16 or √16 is equal to four. √16 = 4.
