Summation
A summation is the act of adding a set of numbers, be it natural numbers,
complex numbers, matrices and other complex expressions.
Summations are denoted by the greek capital letter "sigma." ( ∑ ) In some cases,
upper and lower limits
are placed on
the top or bottom areas of the summation symbol to signify its boundaries.
You can write summation expressions by inserting the "sigma"
symbol
in OpenOffice.org Math.
