Tab Stop
Tab stops are horizontal markers for positioning text. Text is
positioned relative to the tab stop, for example left of the tab stop,
right of the tab stop, or aligned
with the decimal point of a number.
Tab stops positions are displayed in the horizontal ruler
Tab stops are only used in OpenOffice.org Writer.
In Writer, the "tab" key does advance the cursor to the next tab stop.
