Vector Graphic
A vector graphic is a graphical image defined by vectors. A vector is defined by its start point, direction and an optional length.
Vector graphics are used to define images that are not yet fixed in their size.
They can be scaled easily, making them ideal for images such as
Technical drawings, designs of physical objects, shapes, textures, etc. Most
fonts
have a portion of their definition in the form of a vector graphic for each
glyph.
Vector graphics contain vectors and shapes. Shapes are defined by
the vectors of their borders.
In situations where you need color information for many small locations (pixels),
such as photos or screenshots
, you should use a
pixel graphic
instead.
