Zoom

Zoom refers to looking at an object up close or from a greater distance.

Zooming in shows things close up and in greater detail. Zooming out reveals more information and a greater overview.

You want to zoom out when you want to see the overall design of an image, object, slide, page or document. This gives you the opportunity to judge the overall composition of the work.

You want to zoom in, if you are working on a small detail or need to distinguish between objects that are very close.

The zoom level is usually measured in percent, with 100% being the normal size. Anything below 100% is a zoom-out, while anything above it is considered a zoom-in.
