How-To: Select image compression settings when exporting documents to PDF - OpenOffice.org

This screencast demonstrates the procedure on exporting documents as PDF files while selecting or adjusting the image compression settings.
To do this, first click on the "File" option here.
Then, on the menu that drops down click on the option "Export as PDF..."
Once the PDF options window is open, under the "General" tab look for the "images" section here
Here you can choose from the options "Lossless" and "Jpeg" compression. Just click on the choice you want.
For this example, we are clicking on the option "Jpeg compression" so that we can adjust the quality of the images.
Clicking on that choice enables the "quality" field here. Just click on the up or down arrows to increase or decrease the quality of the soon to be exported images.
You can also adjust the image resolution by clicking on the checkbox marked "Reduce image resolution" and then...
...and then clicking on this down arrow to view the list of resolution options.
Once the menu drops down choose the resolution value you want. For this example we are clicking on the option 150 dots per inch. (DPI)
Once done, click on "Export."
Great! We have exported the document as a PDF file with specific image quality and compression adjustments. Congratulations!
