Filter the different styles in the styles and formatting window - OpenOffice.org

How-To: Filter the different styles in the styles and formatting window - OpenOffice.org
  1. To filter the different styles in the styles and formatting window, make sure it is open first. You can do this easily by pressing "F11" on the keyboard.
  2. Now, look for the down arrow here at the bottom right of the styles and formatting window. Click on it once.
  3. A list should drop down. Each option filters the styles according to the type of content it applies to.
  4. For example, if we click on "List Styles"...
  5. You should see that the list displays only the styles that apply to lists only.
  6. Good! You can just click on this down arrow again and pick another filter for other types of content in the document.
  7. In this next example, we are clicking on "HTML Styles."
  8. Great! This list has now been filtered to display only HTML styles.
  9. Just repeat the process until you have filtered the styles based on the type of content that you want to format. For this last example, we are clicking on the default "Automatic" filter.
  10. Congratulations! You have learned how to filter the different styles in the styles and formatting window.
