How-To: Overview of frame style options - OpenOffice.org
  1. This screencast demonstrates the different frame style options that you can change when modifying or creating a frame style.
  2. To do this, we must have the "Styles and Formatting" window open. When it is, we have to click on the "Frame Styles" button to view the different frame styles.
  3. Next, to access the frame style options, we are right clicking on a frame style to bring up a context menu.
  4. Once it opens, we click on the option "Modify..."
  5. The frame style window should open. You can change the different options for frame styles in here.
  6. Currently the organizer tab is open. In this tab you can change the name of the style, its links with other styles, and sometimes its category. Also a short summary of some of the style's enabled options can be found below.
  7. Next, we'll look at the "Type" tab.
  8. Here, you can adjust the frame's size and position. It has precise settings for the width and height, as well as the horizontal and vertical positions of the frame.
  9. Next, let's look at the options tab.
  10. In this tab you can set some of the frame style's properties. Among them is the option if it can be seen when printed, editing options and the text direction.
  11. Next, we'll look at the "Wrap" tab.
  12. In this tab, you can adjust the settings on how text and other objects behave around the frame as well as the space in between them.
  13. There are also additional options here that lets you specify the frame's position in relation to other content.
  14. Next, is the background tab.
  15. Here you can set the background to have a specific color, pattern or image.
  16. Next, let's take a look at the borders tab.
  17. In this tab, you can set the shadow effects of the frame, its line style, as well as the line arrangement.
  18. Next, we are off to columns.
  19. In this tab, you can set how many columns are within the frame, the spacing in between them and the presence and appearance of a separator line.
  20. Lastly, we're taking a look at the "Macro" tab.
  21. In this tab you can set macroinstructions for the frame style. Here you can choose an event and assign macros from a list of them below.
  22. Great! That should end the overview for all the options available for frame styles.
