Create a new style using the drag and drop method - OpenOffice.org

How-To: Create a new style using the drag and drop method - OpenOffice.org
  1. To create a new style using the drag and drop method, first you need to have the "Styles and Formatting" window open. You can do this quickly by pressing "F11" on the keyboard.
  2. Now, we need to select the text with the format that you want to use for the style.
  3. To start selecting the text, move your mouse over it, and then click and hold the left mouse button on one part of the text.
  4. Next, while holding the button, move your mouse across the text, then release the mouse button.
  5. Once it is selected move your mouse to the center of the text, and click and hold the left mouse button. Now, drag your mouse towards the "Style and Formatting" window, then release the button again.
  6. The "Create Style" window should open. Click on the "Style Name" field and type in the name you want for the style.
  7. Once you're done, click on "OK."
  8. Great! Notice that the new style we created has now appeared on the styles list here. Congratulations!
