How-To: Enter the expression for the product of a sequence - OpenOffice.org Math
- To enter a "product of a sequence" of terms, first click on the "math commands window" here.
- Next, once the cursor appears, type in the word "prod." This should display the "product" symbol.
- Now, press space and type in the name of the sequence that you want to use.
- In this case, we shall use the variable "x" to represent the sequence, and "n" to represent a number from that sequence.
- Do this by typing in "x sub n" enclosed in "braces" or "curly brackets" like this. The word "sub" between the variables should display "n" as a subscript.
- Great! We have entered the expression for the "product of a sequence." Congratulations!
