How-To: Enter a summation expression with a lower limit - OpenOffice.org Math
- To enter a summation expression with a lower limit, first click on the "math commands window" here.
- Now, once the cursor appears, type in the word "sum." This should display the summation symbol.
- Next, press space and type in the word "from."
- Now we are ready to enter the lower limit. Press space again and type in the lower limit that you want to use. In this case we are typing in "n=0."
- Next we can enter the expression or sequence for the summation. Press space and type in the expression that you want.
- For this example we are typing in the sequence "x sub n." Type it in enclosed in "braces" or "curly brackets" like this.
- Great! As you can see we have entered a summation expression with a lower limit. Congratulations!
