How-To: Set the relation "a not equal to b" - OpenOffice.org Math
- To enter the "not equal" sign between two variables, first click on the Math commands window here.
- Now, type in your first variable. In this case it is the letter "a."
- Next, enter the "not equal" sign by typing the "less than" (<) and "greater than" (>) symbols back to back like so. You have to use the shift key when you press them on the keyboard.
- Afterwards, type in the next variable. In this example we will type in the letter "b."
- Great! We have entered the expression "a not equal to b" Congratulations!
