  1. To enter the "partial derivative" symbol, click on the "math commands window" here and type in the word "partial."
  2. This should place the "partial derivative" symbol into your document.
  3. Afterwards, press space and type in the expression that you want to place with the "partial derivative" symbol.
  4. In this example we are typing in the expression "x sub n."
  5. Great! As you can see we have entered the "partial derivative" symbol with an expression. Congratulations!
