How-To: About Rulers - OpenOffice.org Writer
- This is the horizontal ruler at the top of the text area.
- The horizontal ruler marks the left margin at 0 inch and a number at every inch in the writing area.
- It also marks the tab positions in the document. Here, every 0.49 inch we have set a centered tab stop marked with the small upside down "T" symbol.
- This is the vertical ruler, marking the top margin of the page and every inch thereafter with a number.
- To remove the rulers, use the view menu.
- Click on "Ruler" to remove the check mark.
- Both rulers have disappeared.
- Use the "View" menu and click on "Ruler" again to show the rulers.
- The horizontal and the vertical ruler are displayed again.
