How-To: Demote a chapter using the navigator. - OpenOffice.org Writer
- You can use the navigator to demote a chapter.
- To do this first click on the chapter you want to demote. For this example we are going to use "Phasellus quis."
- Then, move your mouse and find the "demote chapter" button here. Click on it once.
- Notice that the chapter "Phasellus quis" has now moved down under the "Suspendisse" chapter.
- Just keep clicking on the demote button until the chapter has been demoted to the place you want.
- As you can see, the "Phasellus quis" chapter is now the last chapter of the document.
- Next, it will be a good idea to update the table of contents so that it reflects the new changes we've made.
- Double-click here on "Table of Contents" to move the table into view.
- Then right click on any part of the table. A side menu should appear. Next, click on "Update Index/Table."
- Great! The "Phasellus quis" chapter is now indicated to be the last item on the table of contents.
- Congratulations! You have learned how to demote a chapter using the navigator.
