How-To: Export a Text Document as PDF with notes - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. To export a text document as a PDf along with its notes, first click here on "File."
  2. Then, on the menu that drops down, click on the option "Export as PDF..."
  3. The PDF options window should open.
  4. Under the "General" tab, look for the "Export notes" option here.
  5. Click on the checkbox once to include the notes when the document is exported.
  6. Afterwards, click on the "Export" button here.
  7. The export window should open. Choose the location for the PDF file and then type in the filename you want.
  8. Afterwards, click on "Save."
  9. Now, let's take a look at the file we exported.
  10. Once the new PDF file is open, you should notice that the notes appear like this. Moving your mouse over the small message icon should cause a small helptip to appear with the note on it.
  11. Alternatively, you can double click on the message icon to see the contents of the note.
  12. The note should appear like this.
  13. To close it, just click on the "X" or close button here.
