How-To: Create a Numbered List. - OpenOffice.org Writer
- To make a numbered list out of existing text, first you must select the text.
- Start selecting text by clicking and holding the left mouse button at the start of the text.
- While holding the mouse button move your mouse down to the end of the text.
- Notice that the text gets highlighted as you select it.
- Once you're done selecting, just release the mouse button.
- Now, move to the formatting toolbar and find the numbers button.
- Click on it once.
- Notice that numbers have appeared in order for each line of text.
- If you still want to add more items to the list first click on the line above the new item you can to create.
- Now press enter to add a new item below this line.
- Notice that a new number has appeared, while the other numbers on the list have been re-ordered to fit the new item.
- Now you can type in the new item.
- Great! You have made a numbered list.
