How-To: Change Character Style for a Drop Cap - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. It is possible to change a drop cap's character style.
  2. To do this, select the paragraph where the drop cap is by clicking anywhere on it.
  3. Next, click on "Format."
  4. On the menu that opens click on "Paragraph..."
  5. The paragraph dialog window appears. Click on the "Drop Caps" tab if it isnt already open.
  6. Now move your mouse here to this drop down list to change the drop cap's character style.
  7. Just click on this down arrow to access the drop down menu.
  8. Here you can choose from different character styles.
  9. For our example we are choosing the "Quotation" style. Just click on it once.
  10. Afterwards, just press OK.
  11. Notice that the drop cap has now changed its style.
  12. Great! You've learned to change a drop cap's style.
