  1. This screencast demostrates how to insert tab stop fill characters. Please note that nonprinting characters have been enabled to illustrate the positions of tabs.
  2. To insert fill characters, you must first select the paragraphs where your tab stops are.
  3. Start selecting text by clicking and holding the left mouse button on any part of the first paragraph.
  4. Next, while holding the button, move your mouse until the paragraphs you want are highlighted.
  5. Now just release the mouse button once part of the last paragraph is selected.
  6. Next, click here on "Format."
  7. On the menu that opens click on "Paragraph..."
  8. The paragraph dialogue window appears.
  9. If it is not open already, click on "Tabs" here.
  10. Now, here you will see the list of positions where the tab stops are located.
  11. Just, click on the position where you want the filler characters to start.
  12. Next, choose from the following fill character options.
  13. For this example we are choosing the "dots" just click on it once.
  14. Once finished, just click on OK..
  15. Great! As you can see the fill characters have now appeared.
