How-To: Open a document in rich text format (.rtf) - OpenOffice.org Writer
- To open a document in "Rich Text" format (.rtf), first click here on "File."
- Then, on the menu that appears, click on the option "Open..."
- The "Open" window should appear. In this area you should see the documents that you can open, including the ones in rich text format.
- To make our search easier though, look for the "Files of type" field and click on its down arrow here.
- Then, a list of file types should open. Just click once on the option "Rich Text Format (*.rtf)"
- Good. Notice that only the files in rich text format are now displayed. Click once on the file that you need, and then click on the "Open" button below.
- Great! We have opened the document in rich text format. Congratulations!
