Open a document in rich text format (.rtf) - OpenOffice.org Writer

How-To: Open a document in rich text format (.rtf) - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. To open a document in "Rich Text" format (.rtf), first click here on "File."
  2. Then, on the menu that appears, click on the option "Open..."
  3. The "Open" window should appear. In this area you should see the documents that you can open, including the ones in rich text format.
  4. To make our search easier though, look for the "Files of type" field and click on its down arrow here.
  5. Then, a list of file types should open. Just click once on the option "Rich Text Format (*.rtf)"
  6. Good. Notice that only the files in rich text format are now displayed. Click once on the file that you need, and then click on the "Open" button below.
  7. Great! We have opened the document in rich text format. Congratulations!
