Promote a Chapter Using Navigator. - OpenOffice.org Writer

How-To: Promote a Chapter Using Navigator. - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. You can promote chapters using the navigator.
  2. To do this first click on the plus sign here, or double click on "Headings" beside it.
  3. Afterwards, a list of headings should appear.
  4. For our example we are promoting the "Aliquam erat volutpat" chapter. Click on it once.
  5. Afterwards, go and find the "Promote Chapter" button here.
  6. Just click on it once.
  7. Great! It has been promoted once and is now above the "Suspendisse" chapter." Just click on the button to promote it again.
  8. Good! We have promoted this chapter twice now.
  9. Next, it would be a good idea to update the table of contents so that it reflects the changes we made.
  10. Double click here on "Indexes" then afterwards double click below on "Table of Contents."
  11. The view should change to the table of contents. Now just right click on any part it it.
  12. On the menu that appears click on "Update Index/Table."
