How-To: Promote a Chapter Using Navigator. - OpenOffice.org Writer
- You can promote chapters using the navigator.
- To do this first click on the plus sign here, or double click on "Headings" beside it.
- Afterwards, a list of headings should appear.
- For our example we are promoting the "Aliquam erat volutpat" chapter. Click on it once.
- Afterwards, go and find the "Promote Chapter" button here.
- Just click on it once.
- Great! It has been promoted once and is now above the "Suspendisse" chapter." Just click on the button to promote it again.
- Good! We have promoted this chapter twice now.
- Next, it would be a good idea to update the table of contents so that it reflects the changes we made.
- Double click here on "Indexes" then afterwards double click below on "Table of Contents."
- The view should change to the table of contents. Now just right click on any part it it.
- On the menu that appears click on "Update Index/Table."
- Great! The "Aliquam..." chapter has been placed in its proper position in the table of contents.
- Congratulations! You have learned how to promote chapters.
