How-To: Remove the password protection of a document - OpenOffice.org Writer
- To remove the password from a protected document, first make sure that the document itself is open in Writer.
- Now, click on the "File" option here.
- Next, on the menu that drops down, click on the option "Save As."
- The save as window should open.
- Now, look for the checkbox marked "Save with password." Uncheck it by clicking on it once.
- Afterwards, just type in the filename you want if you need to change it and then click on "Save."
- If you used the same filename as before, you will be asked if you want to overwrite the previous file. Click on "Yes" if you want to do this.
- Great! We have removed the password from this document. Congratulations!
