How-To: Save Text Document under a different name (Save As...) - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. To Save a copy of your document under a new name, click on the "File" menu.
  2. Select the "Save As..." item from the menu.
  3. The "Save As" dialog appears.
  4. Click in the "File name: " field.
  5. Type the new filename.
  6. Click on the "Save" button to finish the dialog.
  7. Watch the progress of saving the document in the "Status" bar.
  8. Remember that from now on you are working on a new copy of the document.
