How-To: Save Text Document - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. Assume you have a document that you have changed.
  2. Lets Edit some more. To replace the "<Subject>" placeholder, click on it.
  3. Start typing a subject line.
  4. To save the changes, click on the "File" menu.
  5. Select the "Save" item from the menu.
  6. Watch the progress in the "Status" bar.
  7. You can verify that a document is saved by checking that the "Save" icon in the "Standard" toolbar is not active.
