How-To: Set Multiple Tab Stops - OpenOffice.org Writer
  1. In this screencast, nonprinting characters like this are shown to clearly illustrate tabs and tab stops.
  2. Now, it is possible to set multiple tab stops all at once. Do this by first selecting the paragraphs where you want to place the stops.
  3. Just highlight the paragraphs that you want by clicking and dragging the mouse over them.
  4. Next, click here on "Format."
  5. Afterwards, in the menu that appears, click on "Paragraph..."
  6. The paragraph dialogue window appears.
  7. If it is not open already, click on "Tabs" here.
  8. Make your first tab stop here by first typing in the position of the tab stop. For this example we are putting in "0.30"
  9. Next, choose the type of tab stop you want. Just click on the choices here.
  10. We are choosing the "Right" tab stop type for this first one.
  11. Now, click on "New" to create the tab stop.
  12. Good! The first tab stop has been created.
  13. Just repeat the process for the next tab stops. Enter the position here...
  14. Choose the tab stop type here...
  15. Then click on "New."
  16. Just repeat the process again and again for the next tab stops.
  17. Once you're done creating all the tab stops, click on OK.
  18. Great! As you can see the text has moved to match the new tab stop positions.
  19. Congratulations! You have learned how to set multiple tab stops all at once.
